Straight out of the record book. BL Twisting Tuff was born September 16, 2017, and was bred by Bob and Pam Loomis. She's an own daughter of Cowboy Tuff Chex out of RRR Miss Rita J 608, and if you know Longhorns, that first name tells you plenty. Cowboy Tuff Chex is the bull Guinness World Records lists for the longest horn spread on a living bull, a title he picked up at Lawton, Oklahoma in October 2019. He was the first bull ever to measure over 100 inches tip to tip, and he sold for $165,000. He never really stopped growing, either. His last recorded measurement was 108⅛ inches tip to tip in September 2025, and he died in August 2026. Behind him are Cowboy Chex and BL Rio Catchit, so the horn in this family didn't start with him. Her dam, RRR Miss Rita J 608, is a WS Jamakizm daughter out of RRR Miss Ruby Q 409. That brings Jamakizm in on the bottom side, along with the Ruby Q cow family that goes back to Coach and Q Mountain Tip. Twisting Tuff has held up her end, too. She measured 89¼ inches tip to tip in October 2024. Here at Stone Creek she's already given us SC Hydro Belle, a WS Hydro heifer, and SC Lunar Eclipse, a PCC Dark Knight bull calf born this August. When we say we're building on proven horn genetics, this is the kind of cow we mean. You don't get much closer to the source than a daughter of Cowboy Tuff Chex, and she's a big part of where this herd is headed.
