A Hired Hand son out of Bombshell. SC Hand Grenade was born August 26, 2025, the first calf our cow CL Miss Bombshell has given us. His sire is DH Hired Hand, bred by Dale Hunt and owned by Rockin' H and DCT Cattle. Hired Hand measured 86½ inches tip to tip at the 2025 Horn Showcase and weighed 1,712 pounds at the 2024 Showcase, so he's got size along with the horn. His sire, HL Higher Ground, has measured 89¼ inches and is a WS Vindicator son out of Horseshoe J Important, a JP Rio Grande daughter. On Hired Hand's bottom side, DH Rough Start is by Voodoo Cowboy, a Cowboy Catchit Chex son, out of AF Open Kerri. Kerri is an AF Gun Slinger daughter, and Gun Slinger is the 92 inch bull that won both horn championships at the 2015 Longhorn World Championship. His dam is no slouch either. Bombshell is by Preacher, a Churchill son with Shadowizm behind him, out of Driving Miss Bombshell, a Bomber Chex 80 daughter. She measured 84¼ inches tip to tip this October and keeps adding to it. Hand Grenade measured 17 inches tip to tip in March 2026, at seven months old. A young bull needs more than one big name on his papers, and what we like about this one is the depth on both sides. He's got Cowboy Catchit Chex, Gun Slinger and JP Rio Grande up top, with Shadowizm and more Rio Grande underneath, all out of a cow that's still growing horn. He's a herd sire prospect we'll be watching close.
